Needle Sizes
Needle sizes are expressed in numbers. The size number relates to the diameter of the needle. There are two size scales. The most common is that used for ordinary Sewing and Darning Needles, the other is used mainly for Tapestry and Chenille. The two scales are, to some extent, interchangeable. The table printed below illustrates how the two scales are related and the extent to which they are interchangeable.
